Pink Ribbon Weekend

PINK was the color of the month for February's Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I spent much of last weekend working on the pink ribbon and finished it up during the week. I worked on 30 blocks for this one, like last month, and you can see the top and bottom halves of the ribbons. Once finished, the quilt will be about 70" in length, and right now I can't get far enough away from the design wall to get a photo of the whole ribbon.

I used fabrics with a little more texture and pattern this month, and one or two with little bits of another color in them, and I think I like that more.

You can see what others are doing for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge here.

Today will be mostly a knitting day, with a Brioche class this afternoon, post to follow. I think it's just a skill builder, but I'm going to find a pattern for a cowl on Ravelry and take that with me.

There was no snow in the long range forecast, but now I see we're expecting another 1-3 inches on Sunday, and more on Wednesday. Is it spring yet?

Did you design this ribbon block? It is really unusual - If not, where did you get the inspiration from? Looking forward to watching your progress with this!

What fun to make a pink ribbon. Is it a special quilt for Cancer awareness? Or are you making a rainbow of ribbons? Nice idea too.

Your ribbon is beautiful, Sue! It will be interesting to hear about your class. I tried brioche once and gave up.

The days are getting longer so more time to heat things up and melt that snow. Spring is on the horizon. Great ribbon strip.

I love your ribbons blocks. So fun! We have -6C today! Yeah!! A single digit temp is fantastic if you ask me after weeks and weeks in the -25C or lower!! The sun is out and shining like mid-July. Love that too! Enjoy your class.

This is so lovely and unusual. I can’t wait to see more of this as it develops. Visiting from RSC. :-)

A ribbon in every color is going to make for a fun quilt!

We haven't had our quota of snow this winter. Spring is coming on early around here. Pretty as it is, it doesn't feel right!

Fun ribbon, I've never seen one done with scraps.

I'm ready for spring too. Hopefully the snowfall this weekend is it for the cold weather.
